I can hear the drum beats from the parade bands at my kitchen table. One of the best things about my apartment is that it’s close enough to the Uptown parade route that I can walk three blocks and be…

New blog post about Pula and Rovinj and why Croati New blog post about Pula and Rovinj and why Croatia was BY FAR the most challenging segment of my entire trip. Link in bio.
I visited Morocco in late 2019. I’d traveled abr I visited Morocco in late 2019. I’d traveled abroad before for summer jobs, but Morocco was the first place I traveled abroad to visit just for myself. I’d felt an increasingly urgent need to get there, and I’ll be forever grateful that I was able to make the trip right before the pandemic stopped all travel. Morocco surpassed my every expectation, and I fell completely in love with the country. Marrakesh especially felt like a mystical place full of such wonder and beauty that I didn’t want to leave. It’s one of my favorite places in the world. I was shocked and devastated to hear about the earthquake this week. Reading about what the people in Morocco are going through right now is gut wrenching. If you have the ability to help, here are some organizations accepting donations to help survivors (2nd photo). Thanks to @marrakechhennaartcafe for sharing this list created by mektoubhenna.com. They have several more relief organizations listed on their website now—I’ll share the link in my stories. If you can’t help financially, you can still help spread the word. #morocco🇲🇦 #moroccoearthquake #earthquakerelief
Between Split and Dubrovnik, I’d choose Split ev Between Split and Dubrovnik, I’d choose Split every time. Especially in October. There are far worse places to be stuck with a stomach virus, truly. New blog post about Split at the link in my bio.
New blog post about the city of Split, Halloween, New blog post about the city of Split, Halloween, my favorite dog in Europe, Hvar in the off-season, and the time I got sick in Croatia for the 2nd time in 2 weeks. Link in bio. Don’t forget to subscribe on my website!
Very much wishing I could have spent a month in Bo Very much wishing I could have spent a month in Bosnia and Herzegovina instead of 5 days. All I’d been taught about Bosnia before this trip was that it was a dangerous and war-torn country—info that hasn’t been accurate in nearly 30 years but that still shapes too many people’s assumptions about this entire region. This is one of my favorite countries I’ve ever visited.
Bosnia and Herzegovina was the only country that I Bosnia and Herzegovina was the only country that I went out of my way to visit a second time on my own during my 5 months of traveling, and I loved getting to re-live it again while writing this. New blog post about Mostar, my fascination with Balkan history, and why Bosnia is one of the most underrated countries in Europe. Link in stories and bio.
Reading taught me to love traveling long before I Reading taught me to love traveling long before I ever left home in rural Mississippi. Here’s a new blog post about some of the books that inspired my 5-month trip around Europe (and Canada). Let me know what you’d add to the list! Link in bio.
