When I found out I was going to be in Upstate New York for a few days at the beginning of October, I reached out to BBC Travel to ask them if I could write a story for them about Sleepy Hollow. I’m so grateful they said yes.

Huge thanks to Ellie Cobb at BBC Travel, Leah at Sleepy Hollow Bookshop, Jim at The Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Julia at Horsefeathers, Amanda at The Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Lucia at the Sleepy Hollow Town Chamber, and Sara at the Sleepy Hollow Historical Society. The original draft of this story was much longer, so even though you don’t see all these names in the final version, I couldn’t have written it without any one of them. Special thanks also to Margaret at Historic Hudson Valley for not only helping with follow-up questions, contacts, and photos for the article, but also for helping me find my temporarily missing credit card after it spent a night in a labyrinth of pumpkins. And to Peter who delivered said credit card to me. And to Tanya who trusted me to pet sit for her while I was in Tarrytown.
