So are you an Itinerary Designer or a Travel Advisor? What’s the difference?
I’m both!
An Itinerary Designer plans detailed, curated itineraries. Planning a trip takes hours and hours (and hours) of research. Some people (me, it’s me) love this research. Some people just don’t have time to spend 10 hours planning every detail of their 2-week vacation. Don’t worry—I would love to do the 10 hours of planning for you!
A Travel Advisor (AKA Travel Agent) typically books tickets, tours, and packages for travelers. A lot of people work with agents for things like booking hotels, cruises, group trips, and big package tours.
If you work with me, I can do both—the Itinerary Designing and the Travel Advisor booking! Or if you’d rather me just to one or the other of these options, we discuss your needs and what works best for you.
What does an itinerary include?
What you get if you hire me is a detailed itinerary that frees you from the time-consuming part of travel prep so that you don’t have to spend hours doing things like searching for accommodations, ticket prices, hours of operation, best modes of city transportation, exchange rates, weather expectations, important customs and etiquette, tipping culture, PLUS of course recommendations for what to do/eat/see. I include checklists of things you’ll need to do before leaving home and any helpful tips to know about your destination. I base the itinerary entirely on your specific interests and priorities.
What locations do you plan for?
The areas that I have the most experience with plannings are for are Europe and North America, but I will plan trips to nearly anywhere! Whether I’ve been to a place before or not, I will do all the research required to plan your trip! That being said, I will always tell you if I think someone else would be better suited to assist you for a specific location or circumstance than I am.
What travel styles and budgets do you plan for? Don’t I need to have a lot of money for an international trip?
My itinerary will be entirely based on your preferences and budget. I can find you a luxury hotel, an all-inclusive resort, the best hostel in town, or a treehouse in the woods—it’s up to you.
What kind of trips do you plan?
I’ll plan all types of trips. Solo-backpacking trips, family vacations, honeymoons, business trips, anniversary trips, long-weekends, digital nomad trips, a dog-friendly trip… nearly any travel.
How do travel agents get paid?
When a Travel Advisor books for you, they get a commission from the travel partner (hotel, cruise line, company, etc.) When I can’t book something for you, I can typically provide an affiliate link for you to book on your own which earns me a small commission. The $25 that I charge per Itinerary Day is for the hours of planning I put into curating personalized itineraries. It’s common for me to spend over 10 hours planning a client’s week-long trip.
How do I get started?
You can just reach out to me to get started! You can email me here or fill out the form here. I’ll start by asking all about the trip you want to take, your interests, and any details you already know (dates, number of people, destinations, etc.), and we can go from there!
